Workplace accident
can play a significant role in the profitability of a company,
as well as significantly reduce employee morale and productivity
and contribute to property loss. The Department of Labor has
estimated billions of dollars are spent each year on medical
expenses, workers compensation, fire losses, and other indirect
costs associated with work-related accidents. Today’s budget
constraints, insufficient staffing, and increased regulatory
requirements further complicate these realities.
The management of health and safety, as well as environmental
issues requires a delicate, balanced mixture of resource
allocation, education and training, compliance evaluation and
monitoring, and upper management and employee commitment. The
time to get serious about worker safety is not when OSHA arrives
at your front door. In order to make your company’s safety
program work effectively, your organization must be proactive,
positive, and committed to achieving your safety goals and
objectives.
