Connecticut

Environmental Scientist/Industrial Hygienist

HRP has an immediate opening for an environmental scientist/industrial hygienist with 3-8 years of experience. Strong written and oral communication skills are a must, along with a related science or engineering degree and relevant certifications (CSP, CIH, or CHMM a plus). Typical projects include indoor air quality investigations and sampling; mold surveys; OSHA worker exposure assessments; supervision of asbestos and lead paint surveys; preparation of specifications and management plans; and project monitoring.

Environmental Engineer

HRP has an immediate opening for an Environmental Engineer with 0-3 years experience. This position supports a variety of projects including water and air pollution and hazardous waste regulatory compliance, site contamination investigation and remediation, and construction-related permitting. Duties include engineering calculations, field inspection and technical evaluations, report writing, and data management. This individual will achieve appropriate experience necessary for Professional Engineer licensing. Candidates should hold a BS/MS in Environmental or Civil Engineering and should demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.

Asbestos Project Designer

HRP is currently seeking a senior level Asbestos Project Designer with 8-10 years of increasingly responsible experience in environmental consulting for a full time position in our Farmington , CT office. The ideal candidate will be able to plan, organize, and manage asbestos and lead paint surveys, prepare technical specifications for abatement, prepare operations and maintenance plans, and manage (as a designer) abatement activities, including abatement contractor interface. The candidate should: (1) possess a thorough working knowledge of state and federal regulations governing such work, (2) be able to research the regulations as necessary for site-specific determinations, and (3) have a good working relationship with the asbestos group at the CT DPH.

The expectation for this position is that the candidate would interface as a team leader with a group of technical professionals on a project-by-project basis. The candidate would need to be comfortable with attending bid walkovers; preparing bids, specifications and cost estimates; management of in-house budgets; and client interface on budget and billing issues, including the preparation of billing summary reports and tables. A Bachelors degree in a related science or engineering field is mandatory. A Masters degree in industrial hygiene, engineering, or environmental science would be desirable, as would a certification as a CIH.

We are looking for a candidate who can handle complicated abatement issues such as those that are encountered in school work and at Brownfields sites, and who would thrive in an environment where a diverse client base results in many different types of projects. Appropriate Connecticut Asbestos Project Designer licensure is a requirement, and the possession of additional asbestos and lead licenses and/or the ability to obtain additional licenses would be expected of the candidate. Also, there may be opportunities to perform work in other regions along the east coast, in support of all of HRP’s regional offices.

Civil Engineers

HRP has a need for a civil engineering graduate with 0-3 years experience in water resources/site planning. The individual should have completed coursework or possess work experience in hydrology/hydraulics/site planning.

HRP is also interviewing for an experienced civil engineer (5-8 years) with stormwater/site planning skills. The individual should be experienced in hydrologic/hydraulic computer programs and AutoCad/Landesk for site planning and quantity estimating. Professional registration is highly desirable, and communication skills are paramount. 

Civil Engineer/Remediation Construction/P.E.

HRP is seeking entry-level through senior-level candidates with 1-10 years of experience to conduct site development engineering, site design, and construction management on a wide variety of challenging projects. Assignments will include preparation of plans and specifications for various types of construction and environmental remediation projects, field supervision of remediation construction, interaction with design professionals and contractors, grading, drainage, and water and sewer design. Candidates should possess a Bachelors Degree from an accredited Civil Engineering program. Experience in environmental management and/or site development is desirable. A P.E. (or ability to obtain P.E. within two years) is preferred.

Project Geologists/Senior Geologists

HRP has positions available for experienced Geologists and Hydrogeologists with 2-5 years experience and 5+ years experience. Areas to be involved with include: site development, RCRA, CERCLA, site investigations, site groundwater/soil remediation, and various site remediation technologies. Experience with chemical oxidation a plus. Responsibilities will include field work, data analysis, and report writing. Candidates should hold a BS/MS, demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, and be proficient in MS Office products.

Remediation Specialist

HRP is seeking a professional with 3-8 years experience in the areas of soil, groundwater, and soil gas remediation. A BS degree in chemistry, environmental engineering, geology, or hydrogeology is preferred. A relevant advanced degree is a plus. We are looking for someone who has performed successful remediation of environmental contamination in a variety of hydrogeological settings under various conditions. Experience with the application of multiple insitu innovative remediation technologies, including chemical oxidation/reduction, enhanced biodegradation, extraction methodologies, etc. using state of the art equipment and processes is preferred. HRP is looking for an experienced professional that can perform all aspects of the application of these technologies, including, assessment, design, pilot testing, implementation, optimization, etc. The successful candidate will also have demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to effectively interface with clients regarding complex technical issues.

Environmental Field Technician

HRP has an immediate opening for an environmental field technician. The major function of an environmental field technician is to perform various environmental sampling activities including: soil and groundwater sampling, low flow groundwater sampling, soil gas sampling, indoor air quality sampling, data collection, supervision of test boring and monitoring well installation, operation and maintenance of remediation systems, site assessment support activities, and maintenance of field sampling, air monitoring and remediation equipment. Individuals will work with vapor extraction, ground water pump and treat, and dual-phase recovery systems, amongst others.

We prefer a candidate with 40 Hour OSHA (29 CFR 1910.120) HAZWOPER health and safety training, but will train the right person. An associates or undergraduate degree in environmental science, geology, science, engineering or related field is a plus.  We will consider entry-level candidates who possess the appropriate background. Florida

Project Geologist/Scientist

HRP is seeking a junior to mid-level Project Geologist/Scientist with 2-5 years experience for our Tampa regional office. We are looking for someone with a strong technical and educational background in geology, hydrogeology, environmental science, environmental or civil engineering, or related sciences. The work will involve the execution of environmental site assessments, subsurface hydrogeological investigations, and remedial actions, as well as client maintenance and report preparation.

This position is a wonderful opportunity for a self motivated, independently minded professional to become the point person for these types of services in HRP’s Florida business region operations. Experience with the application of Florida environmental regulations and an understanding of the nuances of Florida geology upon the implementation of these investigations is a major plus. The selected individual must have excellent written and oral communication skills and be competent in the typical hydrogeological software packages, as well as the standard MS Office products. 

Regional Office Manager

HRP has an immediate opening for a Regional Office Manager in our Tampa regional office. Candidate must have a minimum of eight years of experience, including three to five in responsible charge of hydrogeological and remedial investigations, civil engineering and/or environmental compliance projects. Registrations such as a Florida P.E. and/or P.G. are desirable. Business and client development skills and an ability to apply these skills are required. Project Geoscientist

HRP is seeking a Project Geoscientist to conduct site remediation, water supply development, and due diligence projects. BS/MS in Geology or Geotechnical Engineering, as well as 2-3 years of field experience in geologic, hydrogeologic, potentiometric, and environmental sample data collection and analysis are required. Candidate must also possess a demonstrated ability to interpret information consistent with applicable regulations to meet client needs. Effective writing, presentation and CADD skills a plus. 40 Hour OSHA training also required.

Environmental Engineer

HRP has a position available an experienced Environmental Engineer with 3-5 years experience. Areas of expertise include: plant compliance, air and water permitting and reporting, auditing, ISO 14000. Additional experience in OSHA Health & Safety and compliance training a plus.

Environmental Compliance Specialist 

HRP desires a full time staff level person to support multi-media audit teams with regulatory research, corrective action assistance and tracking, and draft report preparation.
