Sustainable Development
HRP’s consulting engineers have worked with over 200 colleges and universities through our college peer audit program and with innumerable industrial facilities to develop Environmental Management Systems, in both cases, helping them to go “beyond compliance” and be more environmentally sustainable. The definition of “sustainable development” and the spectrum of goals and priorities that it may encompass vary with each individual and from organization to organization. HRP’s experienced environmental consultants can work with your organization to help you prioritize your objectives and determine how you want your sustainable practices to be portrayed to your staff, stockholders, student body, or the general public.
HRP has developed a unique web-based software system to help you implement and monitor your individual sustainability priorities and objectives. Our Sustainable Development System provides you with data collection tools to record data for each of the facilities or locations within your organization, and to generate reports for individual facilities, any grouping of locations, such as region or division, or for the organization as a whole. The system also creates reports of data collection over time, allowing you to track and analyze improvements in sustainability, and your overall progress towards meeting your sustainability goals. Our fully customizable database includes the following basic sustainability parameters:
- Air emissions
- Water usage
- Waste generation
- Energy management/usage
- Safety and injury/illness data
- Employment and diversity information
