OVERVIEW
This
training is provided to each college/university participating in the
Michigan Colleges Foundation EPA
Audit Program. Each school is to send two (2) or more personnel to the
training. The trained auditors are often from different departments/areas on
campus and have included personnel from security, science departments,
facilities, and physical plant, as well as safety and environmental
departments. By training personnel from multiple departments, the job of
environmental compliance gets divided up amongst numerous groups instead of
just one person.
College
and university personnel are trained during this three-day event in how to
conduct an EPA Peer Audit. Training will take place from approximately
8am-5pm each day. Please see training schedule for specifics. Please note that the schedule is tentative at this time.
Topics
that will be covered include:
- Lectures
on EPA and Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ)
Programs: Clean Air Act; Clean Water Act; Resource Conservation and
Recovery Act; Emergency Planning Community Right to Know Act; Toxic
Substances Control Act; Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide
Act, and Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and
Liability Act;
- Peer
Audit Process and EPA violation disclosures; and
- Importance
of networking with peers at member institutions.
COSTS
-
The training is complimentary
for up to two (2) representatives from each school. The cost for training will be $750 per
person for each additional school attendee. Please pay by check when submitting your registration or send in during the week of July 14th.
-
Payment for on-campus
meals (see below) is also due at the time of registration.
